Summer Time

Weather is getting Hot Hot and Hot!!! Personally I can’t stand this weather. Putting sunscreen is a Must Have. Same goes for your pet. Make sure they have enough water and sunscreen. . Protect sensitive skin while you jog, bike, run or go to the dog park with our pet sunscreen. Any time your dog is exposed to more than 30 minutes of sun, he or she could be at risk of sunburn. Even though dogs have coats, pale-skinned dogs and those with short coats can be exposed to the sun. Even shelties, collies and other dogs with minimal skin in their noses can be at risk.

Like humans, pets should have sun block applied to sun-sensitive areas such as tips of ears, nose the belly and groin areas that typically have sparse hair coverage and thinner skin. Additionally, many people get "summer cuts" for their cats and dogs to reduce matting and keep the pets comfortable in the summer heat. .
What products are safe to use for pets? It should be remembered that dogs and especially cats are adept at licking off topical lotions, sprays and creams. These substances can be toxic for dogs and especially for cats. It was once recommended that anything safe for human babies would be OK to use on pets with supervision (let the lotion soak in before licking can occur), and that is still true, but with the following considerations in mind. Please consult with your veterinarian prior to using any human products or medications on your pet. It is very important to read all instructions and directions before applying any product to your pet.
