I was planning for Miko’s Birthday party and here are some fun ideas that I found that you can play with your pup. Just because it rains it doesn't mean that your dog has to spend his whole day sleeping. Dogs always want to play, so you should try playing these games and later try inventing a few more for the sake of yourself and your dog.
Playing hide and seek:
Dogs can find toy, food and people inside the house very well. Playing hide and seek is just as easy to play with people as to play with things that your dog especially likes. Ask your dog to wait for you in a room while you hide a toy or dog cookie (or even yourself) in another. Try not to make it very difficult to find in the beginning and encourage him to find it, and act totally surprised when he finds it. You can start making it harder for him every time as he goes getting better. For example, teaching him to find different things. There are dogs that can find up to a grain of rice if trained too.
Earning their food:
Wild canines hunt for their food, but for house dog eating is much more boring, since all they have to do is come to their bowl and gobble down what ever we serve them. If you want eating to be a little more exiting for your dog, you can make him work a bit for his food if he eats dry fodder for example you can spread them around the house and make him have to chase them or even look for them in order to eat them. You'll see how the more he learns the game the more he'll be grateful for food and wag his tail a lot more. If he eats canned food, you can also play this game like this: divide his food in extremely small rations and locate them all around the house in small bowls. Some dogs can even be trained to return the bowls to the kitchen after he finds them.
The candy and the mug
Place an old plastic cup or mug facing down covering an especially delicious candy. Your puppy knows where it is, and all he has to do is find a way to get the candy from under the mug with out your help. Some dogs move the mug with their legs, some with their muzzle; some even pick it up using their teeth. Any method used is allowed as long as it's done without your help.
Trace a scent:
Training a dog to trace a scent like a hound is extremely fun for the both of you. Any dog can track something, because they have that natural born instinct to smell and chase those scents that are all around us. In order to teach your dog to track you got to make it easy at the beginning. One day, at the crack of dawn when your dog can't see you go outside to the garden and prepare the 1st exercise. The best thing is to walk all over the grass, because it will be easier for your dog to follow your scent trail over the stomped grass. Walk 10 steps in a straight line and leave him a treat in the floor. Wait 10 min before letting your dog out, although on the leash to take him to the starting point. Let your dog take you to the prize and then let him eat it or just praise him for getting there. In the beginning, most dogs will look for the prize visually instead of using their sense of smell. So you'll have to orient him by keeping his head down and so he will actually use his nose to find it. When he finally gets the rules of the game you can start making the trail a lot longer. There will come a time when he will have no other choice than to use his sense of smell since he won't be able to see it. When he finds his treasure you must let him eat it, and praise him for his feat.
Bones for dogs

At time people will share what they eat to their pets. Bones are the popular one. Same goes for my dad; he will gave Gigi (my previous dog some bones) after he finished up the meat may it be Bak Kut or drum sticks. There was once we have to rush Gigi to the vet after some serious vomit and diarrhea of bloody stuff. We then realized that some broken bones were stuck in her stomach. We didn’t know that bones are unsafe no matter what their size. Giving your dog a bone may make your pet a candidate for a trip to the veterinarian later, possible emergency surgery or even death.
We all think it is natural for dogs to chew on bones. However, it’s a dangerous practice and can cause serious injury to our furry friend.
Here are where the bones may go:
1. Broken teeth
2. Mouth or tongue injuries
3. Lower jaw
4. Esophagus (the tube that food travels through to reach the stomach)
5. Windpipe (Accidentally inhales small piece of bone)
6. Stomach
Find other alternative such as apple or other bone like products made with materials that are safe for dogs to chew on.
