My Record- Six in a Roll

My highest record is to groom 6 dogs in a day. Started at 11.00 hrs and end at 17.30 hrs
That’s my biggest achievement; I have groomed one Toy Poodle, one Shih Tzu, one Westie, one Maltese and one Schnauzer.

“Awful” things that happened

Should it be awful or awesome?

1. This morning I was stuck in the train for 20 minutes (the door just not closing) and miss my transport to work. My cab fare ends up being $23. Heart Pain!!

2. We have some “separation exercise” in the company on Tuesday. Some 27 colleagues are asked to leave within 2 hours. My direct boss is leaving today and his boss is leaving end of the month. Some mixed feeling. New organization will be announced today and we have some small celebration. My friend was asking “You mean Tuesday there was Retrenchment and Thursday you have Celebration?”

3. Have been enjoying good food for these 2 weeks.
Last Friday farewell lunch - Buffet
Tuesday farewell lunch at – Thai Buffet, birthday celebration dinner- Crab feast
Thursday birthday celebration dinner – Seafood
Friday farewell dinner – Seafood Buffet
And next week Sawadeka! Oh dear my cholesterol’s going to shoot up again.

4. Shooter Shooter!! Have been playing the mahjong shooter game lately and oh god I am hook. I have been winning lately.. Smiling

5 Things that make me smile

1. It’s been a long time we have our family reunion. My sister staying in US was back to visit us and to celebrate my dad’s birthday. We have not seen her for half a year. The really good thing is she is 6 months pregnant and I am going to have a nephew in a few months time. My mum cooked good food and herb and we are lucky to have some of her share.

2. I spend the last two weekends finished watching a “Chinese” series show. The man that introduce the DVD said this is a good movies which I will not regard watching. After watching chapter 15, I skip every chapter. It’s a sad ending though.

3. After Sunday class, we went to an ex-colleague house warming at Marine Parade. Have been wandering where the properties there are always expensive.. Maybe the wind is different.. (Hai Feng). I brought Miko along and she is really a Super Star. She was really well-liked by everyone. Performing her usual tricks and her act cute face made those guests hugged and curdled her so much.

4. It was a tiring a week. I did yoga on Tuesday, jogged on Thursday and swam on Friday. I groomed 3 dogs yesterday. I can feel my body really aching. (Pasted those pain relief patches all over my back) Soon after the grooming, I rushed home, shower and head to my usual massage center. Thanks Sam.. It’s really a good one.

5. Managed to buy 2 pairs of shoes last week. It’s been 3 months since I bought my last pair of shoe. Women are always bags and Shoes, bags and Shoes. I have not been able to get a nice pair of shoe lately. My philosophy is throw one and get three. When I enter a shoe shop, I will scan through and I really have the “mood” I can get one or two in that shop. It will make my day, but when I head home I will have to scratch my head where to store them.

Do you have tImE?

I have this habit of reading something while doing “business” Usually I will bring along newspaper, emails or SOP into that cubical and enjoying the section. I read an article this morning on “Pet lovers learn art of animal speaks” People are learning to communicate with their pooch thru a 2 to 5 days workshop and it cost about $450 to $2000. Learning their body language and understand their behavior. How often do you spend time with your furry kid? Do you really need to spend money learning their language and shouldn’t they be learning our language instead?
If you do spend time with them, you will definitely understand them better. I do spend about 2 hours a day with Miko. I will talk to her by asking how she spends her day; showing my love and concern by massaging, playing or walking her around the neighborhood. She will have her “bed time story”; training before going to bed.
I have learnt to know her better from our daily connection. I know her timing for toilet and her restless face will tell me she is tired after a long day and she will sleep before me. Share with them more of your time and not regret one day.

Heard about the new on the student kicking and hitting the teacher? I got an inside news from a friend who is teaching in that school. The girl is a normal secondary 2 student, who need attention. She is not mad but need special attention. She used to stand on chair and “meow” to get attention from friends and teacher. There are instructions from the principal to ignore and leave that girl alone. Will it worsen when we leave them alone?
Is it really that difficult to educate a child compare from our days? We get cane when we do something wrong but I don’t think now the parent know when the kid are in the wrong. Teacher can no longer cane the kid unless it is public caning for serious mistake. Is it the children or parents’ fault? Coming back to the time issue! This could be the price and cost of fighting for every dollar in exchange for a stressful life.
