Dog Stress

Do you get stress easily and do you handle stress well? Some people will eat a lot or buy a lot (retail therapy) to make them forget about the stress. Usually I will jog or go yoga to get myself de-stress; at least it’s much healthier. Dog do have stress too. Definitely; it’s not due to work, money or credit card bills. They are stress when they are in a new environment, loss of someone close, feeling insecurity, etc. With the stress, they can behave differently. Refuse to eat, poo and pee anywhere in the house, getting defensive or keep shivering. How can they de-stress?
Keep them as much company when they feel lonely or in a new environment. My friend’s pooch refused to eat for a couple of days when his partner passed away. It’s sad to see them in pain too. Try to take leave to keep them company. This should help them to get away from the grief. Our doggy friend also tend to get stress when they are groom; just like little kid. They will get defensive and favor in protecting themselves when the groomer go near them. They may also pee and poo when they feel scared. Lollipop will not help to calm them down. Apparently, the groomer just need more time to make them feel comfortable. By playing and talking to them will make them at ease too.
When you start observing your dog behavior differently, try to talk to them more often. Make them feel you care and love them. I used to have consulting section with GIGO when she doesn’t behavior well or she get jealous when I came home with other dogs’ smell. Spend more time with them when you still chance.

Enjoyed

"Enjoy" is the word that I use today to describe my day at work. Why?? My boss is not around.. Yeah!! Party time. Not really when my boss is not around I work 100%. When my boss is around I only work 80%. Do you have the same experience as I do?
Enjoyed my weekend very much. Have not had a long and sweet nap ever since I started pet grooming. I do not have the habit to take nap. Even if I slept late after mahjong game, I still wake up as early as 8am. The body clock will automatically wakes me up.
Had though over the weekend what I should do to enhance my grooming skill. I have plan to take up some advance grooming course oversea. Started to make some enquires.. will keep you update on the outcome.

Live Simple

Miss groomer is a bit lost lately. With my company merger in progress, I tend to have the "wait and see" attitude. I like my job and colleagues but I dislike my boss. Had started looking for job. Not sure whether this is the right time as our bonus will only be issued in March. Lately Our lunch topic is always cut cost on our personnel expenses.

Recently I had been to some medi and padi at a fairly cheap price and the sales person can throw in lots of attractive items to temp you. You really have to control yourself from those temptations. Good thing is I pass that round leaving that place without signing any package.
Next I went to get my hair rebond. Damn! I failed this time. I took up another hair treatment package and their sales strategies are really good.
Now I have packages from head to toe. Goodness; with the uncertainty from my current job, I sign up one more package. Sometimes we just can't resist.
No choice I have to work even harder to pay off those packages debts.
Is living simple that difficult? We are just being pampered with these tai tai lifestyle. The more you earn the more you spend.

Miss groomer had start working freelance grooming at a pet shop. Super tired weekend after a long "rest". Its so difference from being mobile groomer and freelance groomer. Being mobile, I am able to have my own time own target. Freelance needs to be more conscious on the time taken for every dog that you groom.
Yesterday, I groomed a Maltese. The dog is pretty good looking and we were trying to keep its Maltese look by keeping the Maltese face and some fur on the legs. Unfortunately, when the owner came and they want everything gone.. so eventually the dog went shave down. Sometimes I just wander why do they need to bring the dog for grooming. They just need to get a shaver and shave the dog down themselves. Those are the typically Singaporean who wants their dog to look ugly as they do not know how to maintain them. Poor doggy.

Boarding Service at My House

Whisky stayed over at my place for 2 weeks. We are all happy to have him around.

My mum and Whisky. He loves to follow her up and down. Hoping to have another extra round of outing.

Whisky took nap together with my dad. He slept with my dad in the night when I am not around. As Whisky is scare of dark.

My parents are retired. They like this boarding service. Every morning after serving him the breakfast, they will bring the dog around the neighbour to pee and poo. In the evening, one more round of night exercise then served him with delicious meal. During weekend, Whisky was bathed and basic grooming was done. 1st Run of the year

There is a dog run coming this month. Unfortunately the registration was closed when I tried to book. Anyway still able to bring your lovely one along to East Coast Park on 24Jan10, 7am to 10am for a walk. Check it out on their website on the actual location: http://www.rustirun.com/.


Time flies, Gigi had died for one year. Hope she is doing well up there.

I have start looking around for another family member. My dad and sibling are quite supportive. Even my niece enjoy playing with dogs.

Happy 2010

Miss groomer have been partying too much over the holiday season.
I have few parties before and after Christmas day. Sometimes I am just wondering what is the point of exchanging gift after the Chhristmas day. I have got some wonderful gifts from friends and love ones. Thanks for the beautiful memories..
New Year Day was another get away to the nearby Island. Came back with sun-burn on my back. Ouch! that was painful, but I just like the color of the burnt.
Looking forward to this New Year and "Horny" (Hokkien; Year of Tiger). I like those challenges as this make me grow.
I hope to have some changes in the way I blog. Hope you will like it.
